“Threads of Hope” Art Installation in Toronto

The large-scale grassroots initiative and art installation Threads of Hope was held in David Pecaut Square, Toronto, on November 22, 2023. Created with the goal of raising awareness for the ongoing hostage crisis in Gaza, the installation featured empty white t-shirts for every hostage held since the October 7th attacks.

The shirts, which were suspended from several clotheslines, were each adorned with the name of the missing individual they represented; these shirts were additionally surrounded by four olive trees—the traditional symbol of peace during times of conflict.

The installation was covered by the Canadian National Post, CP24, and Toronto City News, among other media outlets.
